It has been a while since I have had the time to post on my blog. As I watch BlogVault migrate the 14th WordPress site I have moved today, it inspired me to get some thoughts out.
I am currently LiquidWeb’s WordPress On-Boarding Specialist and have been working with all new customers that sign up for our Managed WordPress Dashboard product. I’ve watched this platform grow and through that time, had my doubts on functionality and the platform’s overall success. Of course, this was prior to my current On-Boarding position but let me tell you, I’m impressed.
Kudos To The Developers
The development team on this platform has really shown innovation since the birth of the Managed WordPress product. With my current role, I am learning more and more about the platform and its back-end and I love it. The migration process is all powered by a simple plugin created by a partnership with BlogVault.
In a quick summary, this plugin will ask for simple sFTP credentials that you will obtain from creating a new site on LiquidWeb’s Managed WordPress Dashboard portal. When the plugin migrates over your site, there is NO downtime! When the migration is completed, you’ll be given a testing URL that will differ from your production URL. The plugin revamp’s all website URL’s to have this testing URL to ensure no content or media is broken.
Simple DNS Switch
The last step is editing your production domains DNS to have an A Record IP of your Managed WordPress Dashboard package and updating your primary domain field in said Dashboard in the Manage Site section and you are live!
I’ve also loved that LiquidWeb is including the following to customers:
- Free SSL from LetsEncrypt
- Staging/Testing Environment Made Easy
- 30-day Remote Backups
- 24/7/365 Heroic Support (Livechat, Ticket or Phone)
Enough of my praise on the platform. If you have a WordPress site, you need to come sign up today and let me migrate you!
